Our Optometrists Offer Comfortable and Convenient Corrective Contacts

Soft contacts are flexible lenses that you place in your eyes for improved vision. These lenses are able to fit comfortably in your eyes, which allows you to wear them throughout the day. They are easy to remove from your eyes as well when you are done wearing them. With these lenses in your eyes, you can expect to have clear vision. This can make it easier for you to do daily activities like driving and reading.

Types of Soft Contacts

There are a few different kinds of soft contacts available. This include:

Daily Disposable lenses—Contacts that you wear while you are awake during the day. Before going to bed, you take these lenses out of your eyes and throw them away. In the morning, you being again with a new pair. These contact lenses are thinner than average, giving the wearer breathability and comfort. It’s important that you remember to take them out at night so your eyes can rest. Disposable lenses are an ideal choice for anyone who has suffered from dry eye or other problems with comfort in the past..

Monthly and 2-Week Disposable lenses—Contacts that you put in your eyes during the day and take out at night. These lenses can be worn on a daily basis for various periods of time, depending on the brand, before needing to be replaced. Some types of daily wear lenses can be worn for two weeks; others can work for up to a month. However, they do need to be cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis to prevent deposits from building up on them and to remove debris that could hurt your eyes.

Extended Wear (Night and Day) lenses—Contacts that you can wear for up to 30 days and still sleep in. These contacts are thicker and more durable, so the wearer can sleep in them without discomfort. It is still important to take them out and disinfect them on a regular basis, but it’s okay to take a nap with these contacts in or keep them in when you sleep at night. Just be aware that keeping these contacts in for an extended period of time without cleaning them could raise your risk of eye infections.

Keep in mind that you will not be able to wear soft lenses if you have certain eye conditions, such as dry eyes or severe astigmatism. Instead, you can look into getting rigid contacts for improved vision.
